Bishop’s Lent Appeal

Each year, our bishop organises a Lent Appeal to help one local and one global good cause.

The Bishop’s Lent appeal this year is to support international conservation by A Rocha, a charity working in Ghana caring for God’s Creation and local sustainability work, including at the Sustainability Centre in East Meon.

If you would like to donate to this appeal you can make donations to the Bishop’s Lent Appeal online – including giving with Gift Aid use this to The Diocese of Portsmouth’ website:

Each year St. Cuthbert and St. Aidan’s churches raise funds for a variety of secular and religious charities, trying to respond to the needs of the moment.

It has not been possible to have fundraising events in 2020 due to Coronavirus restrictions as we have not been able to meet in the Church & Centre and it was not possible to have a Christingle Service.

However, we were able raise money for the Children’s Society this Christmas.

£658.50p has been collected for the Children’s Society. This is a terrific amount considering we have not had the Christmas events and services to collect from. It will go towards supporting children with mental health issues.
