Charity Giving

Each year St. Cuthbert and St. Aidan’s churches raise funds for a variety of secular and religious charities, trying to respond to the needs of the moment.

CHRISTMAS CHARITY

In 2019 we supported Canine Partners (caninepartners.org.uk) who train assistance dogs who support people with disabilities, many of whom are wheelchair users.
These amazing dogs undertake simple tasks such as opening and closing doors, helping with shopping, paying at the counter, dressing and undressing their partner and even loading and unloading the washing machine.

Jenni and her lovely dog Lbe (pronounced Albie) came to visit St. Cuthbert’s at the 10.00 service on 24th November to tell us more about this amazing charity. Lbe is sponsored by a company hence the strange name.

The Christmas Tree Festival and collections at the Christmas Services raised the amazing sum of £1,674.98 which was handed over to Canine Partners in January.
