INTRODUCING REVD. ALLIE KERR
I am delighted to be the new vicar of St Cuthbert’s and St Aidan’s and am really looking forward to getting to know all of you.
My husband Adrian and I have 4 daughters, Natalia 24, Bekah 22, Jess 21 and Iona 19, our family also includes Andy, Mat, Zena (our daughter’s partners) and Joseph our 3-year-old grandson.
I have been a vicar since 2009, first in Poole and for the last 7 years on the Isle of Wight. In addition to parish responsibilities I have been Area Dean, Associate Mission Development Officer and have served in various roles including Diocesan Synod, Bishop’s Council, and Homeless Shelter Co-ordinator. Before ordination I worked in retail management.
I discovered faith aged 17, my church background is eclectic including Roman Catholic, non-denominational churches, an ecumenical church and ranges from very informal to much more traditional. I became an Anglican when feeling called to ordination because of the mission opportunities and the privilege of supporting people for baptisms, weddings and funerals.
I am so looking forward to working with you all to share the good news of Jesus with our community through our words and actions. I am looking forward to seeing what God will do in St Cuthbert’s, St Aidan’s and our wider community in the next few years.
